> Paste a textbook chapter or section and Notedly turns it into organized study notes in standard, Cornell or outline format. Your first summary is free, no account needed.

## What you get

- **Notes in your class's format.** Standard notes for a quick review, Cornell notes with key terms and questions beside them, or an outline that follows the chapter section by section.
- **Chapter by chapter.** Summarize one section or a whole chapter at a time, and keep each chapter's notes together in your account for the exam.
- **Follow-up questions.** Ask about any idea in your notes that didn't click, on every plan, including the free one.
- **More on Premium.** Upload the chapter PDF or a photo of a printed page instead of pasting, and turn your notes into practice quizzes. Premium is $9.99 a month or $49.99 a year.

## How it works

1. **Copy the text:** Copy a section or chapter from your e-textbook, course reader or PDF. Paste at least 100 words.
2. **Pick a note style:** Outline to follow the chapter step by step, Cornell for definitions and review questions, or standard for a quick review. Then click Summarize.
3. **Check against the book:** Read your notes, then go back to the textbook for figures, worked examples and anything you'll be tested on in detail. Check names, numbers and formulas against the original.

## What to paste
Paste the text of one section or chapter at a time: the explanations, definitions and examples you'll be tested on. Leave out the table of contents, index and end-of-chapter answer keys. Formulas and equations come through as text, so study structures, diagrams and figures in the textbook itself.

## Use AI responsibly
Use your notes to understand and review the reading, not to replace it. Cite the textbook, not the notes, and don't hand in AI-generated text as your own work.

## Frequently asked questions

**Is the textbook summarizer free?**

Yes. Your first summary works without an account. After that, a free account includes 10,000 words a month, counting the text you paste and the notes Notedly writes, which is about one long chapter. Premium is $9.99 a month or $49.99 a year for 500,000 words a month.

**Can I upload a textbook PDF?**

On Premium, yes: upload the chapter PDF in Notedly and get the same notes. On the free plan, copy the chapter's text and paste it here. Summarizing a chapter at a time works better than a whole book at once.

**I only have a printed textbook. Can I still use it?**

Yes, on Premium. Take a photo of the page and upload it, and Notedly reads the text from the image. On the free plan, you'd need to type or paste the text.

**Can it solve the end-of-chapter problems?**

No. Notedly writes notes on what the chapter explains, so you understand the ideas behind each problem type. Work the problems yourself, and follow your course's rules on AI use.

**Can I use the Notedly Chrome extension on my textbook?**

The extension is for quick reads. It summarizes the text you highlight, the part of the page on your screen, or the first part of a PDF, up to about 1,300 words at a time. For a full chapter, paste it here.
